Traditional Arts Collective

So what separates TAC from other Céilí bands? They've supplemented the traditional Céilí line-up with full drum kit and bass guitar. This, combined with four other instrumentalists, singer, MC and sean-nos dancers to boot makes for a rocking sound! At TAC Ceilis the MC teaches lively set dances through a Madonna style microphone and the whole room ends up dancing. The idea behind the collective is that reels and jigs are dance tunes and should therefore be danced to. What's the mission? to bring the Céilí back to the people!

TAC have been making waves in traditional music circles performing storming sets at festivals such as The Spirit of Folk Festival, Phizzfest, The Jack of Diamonds Rhythm and Roots Festival and The Glendalough Music and Arts Festival. They recently featured in a Guinness ad for the Arthur Guinness Projects and also made an appearance in the Céilí scene of the Hallmark film 'Chasing Leprechauns' with Amy Huberman. TAC perform regular gigs at IMRO award winning venue The Grand Social along with weddings and corporate bookings. Members of TAC have played with the likes of Stockton's Wing, Afro-Celt Soundsystem, Slide, Ciorras, Dun an Doras and many others.

Céilí dancing is sociable, its good for you and of course-it's great craic so come along, let your hair down and dance the night away!
